Mr. Paul Said, Deputy Director at Al-Bayan Bilingual School in Kuwait, led a session titled “The Learner as an Agent of Change: Innovative Experiences from TAMAM Schools” during the first day of the 12th TAMAM Gathering. 13/6/2024
The session featured participation from Ms. Sheikha Al-Jifeli, Principal of Hayil Al Awamer Girls’ School in Oman, Dr. Khalil Ajeenah, Director of Lebanese International School, Ms. Fatima Salama, Principal of Al Ghubayri Secondary Official Mixed School in Lebanon, and Mr. Fahmi Karami, a lawyer and founder of the Training and Dialogue House Association in Lebanon, specializing in arbitration, mediation, alternative dispute resolution, and a regional expert in children’s rights.
The session highlighted contributions from TAMAM professional network members who have undertaken innovative initiatives to enhance learner leadership and increase their engagement in school life. It included presentations on three experiences from participating TAMAM schools that originated from the characteristics of the TAMAM student “the learner as a leader of change.” These initiatives emphasized learner leadership as a fundamental necessity in schools and focused on launching and implementing developmental projects and initiatives that foster student leadership.
